ABOUT US

LOVE PHYSICAL THERAPY

Doug Bonnesen, MPT, DPT

Doug received his master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the Mayo Clinic in 1991.  After graduating he spent time as a traveling Physical Therapist working around the United States and traveling abroad to practice and learn.  He obtained his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University in Denver, CO in 2013.  He has worked in outpatient orthopedics for over three decades specializing in spine and upper/lower extremity diagnoses.  He served as an adjunct faculty member at the Wichita State Physical Therapy Program for 10 years where he taught classes on foot and ankle mechanics as well as a class highlighting steps on how to best educate your patients while practicing physical therapy. He has assisted the KU Medical School with their rural medical educational department by teaching at many conferences regarding musculoskeletal rehab.  He is a frequent speaker at the Wichita Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Symposium. Overall, Doug enjoys helping people get to the root of their issue and not wasting their time with unneeded drawn-out treatments. Typically, patients see progress after the very first visit.  Doug has been married to his wife Cathy for 27 years. They have one son Noah and a rescue dog named Choco. In his spare time, Doug enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, gardening and being outdoors.

Cathy Bonnesen, Office and Marketing Manager

Cathy serves as the office and marketing manager for Love Physical Therapy .  With a background in Occupational Therapy and a love for all things hospitality, she strives to make each person feel welcome and important from the time they arrive.  Patients often leave with a loaf of freshly baked banana bread or a home grown flower arrangement in a jelly jar.  Because she is a former Master Gardener you may catch her out tending to the plants that lead up to the front door.  She believes it is the little details that make Love Physical Therapy special.
